Solomon Odeniyi in a discussion with the State of Osun’sInformation Czar, Funke Egbemode got an insight into a key policy thrust of the Gboyega Oyetola administration.
BEFORE the expiration of the tenure of Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, there should have been a harvest of projects. These would be all-round projects that will touch every part of the economy.
The governor of the state is committed to changing the narratives of the state and the citizens. It is one thing to talk it, is another to act. Oyetola has been quietly giving his marching orders to cabinet members and no one dares gives an excuse.
There is no doubt in the fact that the Governor wants to deliver. It is our job as cabinet members to ensure we do everything that will make him to achieve set goals for the state. The governor has a formidable team. He has shared his vision and told us what he wants. We have the marching orders and will do what he wants.
Under him, I see a state that would have changed significantly and the citizens at the end of his four years will be impressed to trust him with another term.
The economic summit is about government having no business doing business. He has brought the businessmen and the state government will provide the enabling environment and protect the investor to secure their investments. When they are safe, others who are yet to come will definitely be convinced to come down to the state. He wants to open up the economy. Oyetola wants the state to be the South-West region’s commercial hub. He wants the state to be the one that will feed the region. That is what Lagos is enjoying and the state earns a lot from taxes. Oyetola wants to rejuvenate the economy of the state. He wants to create more jobs for the people of the state.
The economic and investments summit was not just put together for mere talks. People who attended could see that the discussions held were not about coming to deliver papers. It was about business men sharing their experiences.
The effects of the summit will be fully felt in no distant time. Already, about twenty- two investors have indicated interest in partnering and investing in the state and definitely more will join.
We at our end would ensure that when these investors come, we will tell the world just like it is our job to ensure that we make known everything Osun has to offer which we have been doing.
We will get ahead of every issue and be proactive. We will explain what is going on in government and we will communicate what the people feel back to the government. We have our own feedback mechanism that will ensure there is no communication gap in the state.
