Iwo West LCDA Empowers 200 Residents

The adage that says “It is good to train a man to fish rather than giving him fish” has been put to reality by Iwo West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in conjunction with the United Nations Development Program and the National Orientation Agency (NOA) by organizing a 2- day empowerment programme for 250 selected residents of the council.

According to a statement by the Head of Social Development, Mr. John Adewuyi at the said programme that was chaired by the Secretary to the State Government of Osun, Alh. Moshood Adeoti, the chairman of Iwo West LCDA, Hon. Ezekiel Adedibu  admonished the participants to be up and doing in their various vocational skills being trained on.

He also promised financial assistance in no distance time to assist them in their various vocations.

He further promised to embark on the second phase of the transformational projects in the LCDA which include grading of earth roads from, DC School, Olosi to Aba Ode; Agberire to Akinola; Agberire to Ogbogbologun; Agbona Junction through Daodu to Loogun; Elemo village through Monkin to Daodu; Daodu through Aperin through Ogunju to Jolu, and Jolu through Lebulebu to NUD School, Foke/Obajoko.

Others are, Elewonta through Idamodu through Mogbindin to Idi araba Junction; Ologunebi through Foke through Oloba Ijuoba to Agoro Agric; Alagbon Junction through Oro village through Monsaba to Anarun; Papa through Idiomo to Arekese; Arekese to Idiomo Junction and Idi-omo Juction through Oloba Tifede through Monjibere to Arekese.

He concluded that the LCDA has a lot to offer the people in terms of transformation that would enhance better living standard for everyone.

The council boss noted that this can be fully attained if everyone can be up and doing in all their civic duties to the government especially, in the payment of taxes and levies.
