Iyabo Ojo Threatens Fresh Legal Action Against Lizzy Anjorin Over Defamation, Family Threats
Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has vowed to initiate fresh legal proceedings against her colleague, Lizzy Anjorin, over alleged defamatory remarks and threats directed at her family.
This renewed threat comes months after the Lagos State High Court, Osborne Division, struck out Ojo’s N1 billion defamation suit against Anjorin, citing procedural errors.
The court had also ordered Ojo’s lawyer, Olabimpe Ajegbomogun, to pay N500,000 in costs to Anjorin’s counsel, Ademola Olabiyi.
The actresses, once industry colleagues, have been embroiled in a long-running feud that has spilled across social media platforms and into the courts.
Anjorin has, on several occasions, taken to Facebook live to mock Ojo, sparking a wave of parody skits on TikTok and Facebook.
In a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, Ojo broke her silence, confirming that her legal team has been closely monitoring developments.
“My legal team isn’t sleeping. They are taking note of everything. A wise person listens to learned counsel. Everything has its timing,” she wrote.
Ojo expressed deep concern over Anjorin’s curses and alleged death threats, particularly those aimed at her family members, including her grandson.
“The insults, curses, even death wishes Liz has directed at my family, especially my grandson, are heartbreaking. Most times, I struggle to hold my peace, but I choose to ignore the distractions. Who God has blessed, no one can curse,” she added.
The actress disclosed that in recent months, she had shifted her attention to family responsibilities, especially celebrating the arrival of her first grandchild.
However, she hinted at taking firmer legal steps once she fully settled back in Lagos.
The feud took a more serious turn after Ojo alleged that Anjorin should be held responsible if anything happened to her or her family. The allegation followed a fire incident at her Lagos office, which her daughter, Priscilla, linked to a series of threats, including a letter received in May alleging that their movements were under surveillance.
Ojo has previously explained that her fallout with Anjorin began after she publicly expressed support for Folashade Tinubu, the wife of Anjorin’s husband, which she claimed triggered attacks and accusations from her colleague.
The bitter rivalry, marked by lawsuits, police petitions, and online hostilities, has become one of the most contentious public feuds in Nollywood, drawing widespread attention from fans and industry watchers.
