Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Citizenship and Leadership, Nasir Bala Aminu, popularly known as Ja’oji, has resigned his appointment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His resignation follows President Tinubu’s directive that all political appointees seeking elective positions must step down on or before March 31, 2026.

The order affects ministers, special advisers, senior special assistants, and other political appointees.

In his resignation letter on Saturday, Ja’oji thanked the president for the opportunity to serve, describing his appointment as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to youth development.

He noted that his selection was driven by the president’s confidence in young Nigerians and his desire to empower them to contribute to national growth.

Ja’oji pledged continued loyalty to the president and readiness to serve the country in any capacity if called upon in the future.

He commended the administration’s “Renewed Hope Initiative,” calling it a key driver of policies and programmes for national development.

The former aide also confirmed his intention to contest the 2027 elections for the Tarauni Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
