A Jeju Air flight, 7C101, traveling from Seoul’s Gimpo International Airport to Jeju Island on Monday, was forced to return shortly after takeoff due to a landing gear issue.
The flight, which departed at 6:37 a.m., landed safely back at Gimpo Airport at 7:25 a.m., with no injuries reported among the 161 passengers and crew onboard.
The incident occurred just a day after a deadly crash involving a separate Jeju Air aircraft of the same model.
According to Yonhap News, the airline has yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of the technical issue on flight 7C101.
However, it intends to resume operations using a replacement aircraft to minimize disruptions.
On Sunday, a Boeing 737-800 operated by Jeju Air crashed while landing at Muan International Airport after arriving from Bangkok, Thailand, killing 179 people out of the 181 onboard.

Two survivors, both flight crew members, were pulled from the tail section and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to Yonhap, the ages of the passengers in Sunday’s crash ranged from 3 to 78 years, with most being in their 40s, 50s, and 60s.
As news of the tragedy spread, family members of the victims gathered at the airport, seeking information and comfort.
One distraught relative expressed his anguish to BBC, saying, “I can’t believe the entire family has disappeared, my heart aches so much.”
Although the exact cause of the crash is not confirmed, one of the two rescued crew members told local media that it is “presumed to have been a bird strike.”
