Auwalu Sankara, Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, has been suspended by Governor Malam Umar Namadi, pending an investigation into allegations made by the Kano State Hisbah.
The Kano State Hisbah Board had arrested Sankara in an uncompleted building with a married woman.
The board’s Director General, Dr Abba Sufi, confirmed Sankara’s arrest with the married woman on Friday evening.
The DG in a statement issued on Friday night, said Sankara denied the allegations, describing them as false, baseless, and malicious.

He claimed the accusations were a deliberate attempt to tarnish his image.
However, a statement signed by the secretary to the state government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, on Saturday stated that the suspension was to allow for a thorough investigation to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the state administration.
