The devastating flood situation in Jigawa State has claimed six additional lives, bringing the total death toll to 22.
Earlier reports indicated 16 fatalities and 3,834 displaced persons.
According to Alhaji Musa Muhammad, Information Officer of Kirikasamma Local Government, the latest incidents occurred due to building collapses triggered by heavy rainfall.
In Gamji village, four sons of Malam Yahaya lost their lives when their room collapsed during midnight, while two more fatalities were reported in Fandin village, where houses crumbled under the intense rain.
