JSS3 Student Allegedly Kills Teacher Over Seized Cap In Benue
A Junior Secondary School 3 student has allegedly killed his teacher during a confrontation over a seized school cap in Oju Local Government Area of Benue State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday at UBE Oju Centre when 16-year-old Friday Ogamude confronted his teacher, 35-year-old Mr. Oyibe Oyibe, over a cap that had been confiscated since May 2025.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which the student allegedly struck the teacher, who slumped instantly.
Mr. Oyibe was rushed to Amara Hospital, Oju, but was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor.
His body has been deposited at the General Hospital, Oju, for autopsy.
Sources also revealed that the police have arrested the student and assured the public that justice will be served.
The command condemned the incident and confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
