Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has been released from Kuje prison to a grand celebration by his supporters and political associates.
Bello, who was welcomed by his successor, Governor Usman Ododo, and a crowd of jubilant supporters, returned home on Thursday following his release on bail.
A video circulating online shows Ododo and others rejoicing over Bello’s return.

Osun Defender reported that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice MaryAnne Anenih, granted Bello bail in the sum of N500 million.
The bail conditions require him to provide three sureties who own properties in high-value areas of Abuja, such as Maitama, Guzape, or Asokoro.
Bello was also ordered to surrender his passport and is restricted from leaving the country without prior approval.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned Bello alongside Shuaibu Oricha and Abdulsalam Hudu on a 16-count charge, including conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, and unlawful possession of property.
All three defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Justice Anenih had initially denied Bello’s bail application on procedural grounds but granted bail to his co-defendants.
After meeting the court’s conditions, Bello was released, and celebrations erupted among his supporters.
Meanwhile, Netizens have berated Governor Ododo for what they termed a show of shame.
