•Challenges Gov To Contest Under PDP If He Is Popular
The former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has mocked Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, over his attempt to decamp to the APC.
Omisore said Adeleke is not popular in Osun State, hence the reason the governor is running around begging people to join the APC.
Omisore, while speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, said he has no issue with the Governor joining the APC, but said he must do it properly.
The former deputy governor of Osun State also accused Adeleke of having a history of reneging on promises, noting that the Governor lacks integrity.
Omisore also said if Adeleke is popular, he should stay in the Peoples Democratic Party and contest, adding that anyone presented by the APC will defeat the governor.
He said, “I’m not saying Adeleke cannot join the party, he can join the party, but the point is that it is not like what is being heard in the newspaper or on television.
“For instance, the State APC chairman and the national chairman of the party are not aware. Politics is very local.
“The fear of Adeleke is the issue of keeping to timeline and promises. He doesn’t have integrity. In 2018, he had promises with Shuaib Oyedokun and Dotun Babayemi but didn’t fulfill them. In 2022, with Aregbesola, he failed. In 2014, with Senator Omisore, he failed.
“If Adeleke is popular enough, let him stay in his party and contest to defeat us. As we speak today, anybody who bears the ticket of the APC will win Osun State.
Adeleke won with a marginal defect in 2022. That is not what they call popularity. That is why they are running around to look for friendship in Ogun State and Abuja to bring them to Osun APC. If you want to come to Osun APC, come but do it in the right way, not that Governor Dapo Abiodun will be the one anchoring you.”
