Members of the All Progressives Congress in Ward 01, Obokun Local Government have suspended a former House of Assembly lawmaker who represented the area, Hon. Bosun Oyintiloye over alleged gross misconduct.

In the suspension letter which was signed by 18 executives and five ward leaders and addressed to the chairman of the party in the state, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, the APC members, accused Oyintiloye of unauthorised takeover of the Executive Assistant (EA) slot and accompanying funds amounting to N5.6 million.

They also alleged the former lawmaker was engaging in divisive activities, including the organisation and conduct of factional meetings within the ward.

The APC members said they had earlier sent a letter reporting alleged gross misconduct against Oyintiloye to the APC chairman.

The letter, dated January 29, read “We, the Executives and Leaders of Ward One, Ibokun, convened today in the presence of ward members to deliberate on persistent issues affecting the unity, stability, and progress of
our ward.

“Following the earlier report of gross misconduct against Hon. Bosun Oyintiloye, which was duly submitted to and acknowledged by the State Party Administration on the issue of unauthorised takeover of the Executive Assistant (EA) slot and accompanying funds
amounting to N5.6 million, originally designated for ward leaders, despite the fact that he had
already secured a personal slot through a third party while concurrently holding a federal appointment.

“Engagement in divisive activities, including the organisation and conduct of factional meetings within the ward. Prolonged absence from ward meetings and political activities for over three (3) years.

“Lack of financial commitment or material contribution to ward affairs despite benefiting

The letter added, “in view of the foregoing and his consistent lack of engagement and contributions to the ward activities despite having benefited from the platform and support of the ward, it has become necessary to take decisive disciplinary action.

“Consequently, Hon. Bosun Oyintiloye is hereby suspended indefinitely from Ward One, Ibokun, and shall cease to represent the interests of the ward at any level.

from party leaders at all levels. Our utmost concern remains the unity, strength,
