The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has barred the member representing Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa federal constituency, Hon Lukman Mudasiru from entering his palace.

The monarch in a statement he posted on his official Facebook page, on Friday, accused the federal lawmaker of neglecting Iwoland’s traditional institutions.

Oba Akanbi said any politician representing any or all areas in the district, owes him a stewardship explanation.

“Oluwo is an entity. He is the traditional head of the town. The stool is rich, and further promoted by the incumbent occupant, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi. Iwo is the traditional and political head of Osun West Senatorial District, Osun State.

“By virtue of these pedigrees, Oluwo deserves the most traditional honour in the district. If you are a politician representing any or all areas in the district, you owe Oluwo stewardship explanation.

“Either directly or indirectly, you are representing the interests of his district. Traditionally, he heads the district, so also is the stewardship account from both elective and appointed political holders.

“A few days ago, Oluwo made open remarks about Hon. Lukman Mudasiru for neglecting Iwoland traditional institutions. And Oba Akanbi openly declared him barred from entering his palace. He can’t enter Oluwo’s palace.

“As a cultured Yoruba man, would you start bathing from the leg? Capital NO. The day a man tries to walk with his head is the day he begins an open madness,” the monarch wrote.

OSUN DEFENDER reports that Oba Akanbi in a recent video, openly expressed his disappointment at politicians from Iwo land, claiming that they have not contributed meaningfully to his palace.

In the video which circulated online, the monarch made the remarks while hosting a House of Representatives aspirant for Ayedire, Iwo, Ola-Oluwa federal constituency, under the Accord Party, Mr Ayodeji Bello, at his palace recently.

Oba Akanbi who spoke in Yoruba language in the video, said Iwo is the headquarters of Osun West Senatorial District and deserves respect, development, and proper representation.

He added that politicians from other towns have been the ones showing him support, while those from his own land have failed to do the same.

“During my reign, three House of Representatives have been elected and the highest I have gotten from each of them is N500,000. The money that cannot buy my slippers or up to the amount I gave out weekly to my subjects.

“All the politicians in my domain are not doing anything for me. Including the one who was a former Senator. It was the Senators from other places that are doing things for me,” Oluwo noted.

The monarch said the House of Representatives aspirant would have to agree on what he would do for the palace if he emerges as the lawmaker for the federal constituency before he can give him his support.

“I pray God will be with you in your ambition but before I can say I will support you, you have to pen down what you will be doing for me if you are elected,” the monarch told Bello.
