JUST IN: Senate Passes Buhari’s Supplementary Budget

The Senate has approved the the sum of N819,536,937,813 as the 2022 Supplementary Budget presented to it by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Senate, in the Committee of the Whole and Plenary approved the 2022 Supplementary Budget for four ministries.

In the approved budget, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development received N69,247,175,770. while the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, got N704,789,762,043.

Also the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) got N30,000,000,000; while the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, got N15,500,000,000.

The senate also considered the report of the Committee on Finance Finance Bill, 2022 (SB. 1087) presented by Senator Adeola Solomon.

Solomon moved that the Senate do receive and consider the report of the Committee on Finance on the Finance Bill, 2022 (SB. 1087).

The motion was seconded by Senator Isah Jibrin. Solomon laid and presented the report. The Senate resolved into Committee of the Whole to consider the report and later reverted to Plenary to report progress.

The Finance Bill, 2022 (SB. 1087) was read the third time and passed by the senate.
