Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has expressed outrage and disappointment over the granting of bail to confessed bandits in Abuja.
Osun Defender reports that the bandits, who were arrested by the state government, had confessed to killing people and possessing weapons.
Despite their confessions, they were released on bail, sparking concerns about the effectiveness of the justice system in the country.
According to Governor Lawal in a viral video obtained by Osun Defender, he said the state government had handed over the bandits to the authorities, who took them to court.

However, in a surprising turn of events, the bandits were granted bail in Abuja, leaving many in shock.
Speaking in Hausa language, he said, “We arrested the bandits, and they confessed that they killed people and had weapons in their hands. We handed them over to the authorities and they were taken to court. However, we received news yesterday that they were granted bail in Abuja,” says Governor Dauda Lawal at the Zamfara State High Court of Justice.”
Recall that recently, the State Governor has been lamenting the insecurity situation in the state, claiming that some prominent persons residing in Abuja have been negotiating with the ravaging bandits.
He maintained that these powerful individuals live in Abuja and are initiating negotiations with the bandits in the state without his knowledge, which he said is causing an escalation of banditry activities in the state.
