“Justice Will Prevail”: Sanwo-Olu’s Ally, Aisha Achimugu Reacts To EFCC’s ‘Wanted’ Declaration
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Felak Concept Group, Aisha Achimugu has broken her silence following the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)’s decision to declare her wanted over allegations of money laundering.
On Friday, the anti-graft agency urged members of the public with information on her whereabouts to come forward, stating that she was wanted in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.
However, in a statement released via her official Instagram handle on Sunday, Achimugu addressed the situation, expressing gratitude to those who had reached out to her.
The statement, signed by Bodex Hungbo, her Head of Media, noted that the businesswoman had been inundated with calls and messages from friends, associates, and well-wishers.
Achimugu reaffirmed her commitment to the rule of law and due process, stating that she remains a responsible citizen who has always conducted her businesses with transparency and integrity.
“We express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out in concern and solidarity. Your kindness has been a source of strength during this trying period,” the statement read.
She further stated that she remains confident in the legal system, adding that her business dealings have always been in line with the laws of the country.
“As a responsible citizen and entrepreneur, Dr Aisha remains a firm believer in the rule of law and due process and will never do otherwise. We trust that these principles and justice will prevail as this matter unfolds,” the statement added.
Achimugu, a notable figure in business and social circles, made headlines in January 2024 when she hosted a lavish seven-day 50th birthday celebration on the Caribbean island of Grenada. The event was graced by some of Nigeria’s top entertainers, politicians, and a sitting governor.
