A top contender in the Osun State governorship race under the All Progressives Congress(APC), Kunle Rasheed Adegoke popularly called K-RAD, has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria, and indeed Nigerians, on their victory over the Chipolopolo of Zambia in the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying game.

The Super Eagles recorded this wonderful feat at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday through the 73rd minute goal of Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi.
In a statement released by the governorship hopeful in Osogbo, Osun State capital, Rasheed Adegoke said: “I congratulate Nigerians on this well deserved victory, not only for qualifying for 2018 world cup in Russia; but also as the first African team to so qualify. This is a pointer that Nigeria can still get its place back as the number one country in Africa in sports and every facet of human endeavour.

“Being a sports lover, our admiration and passion for the revitalization of the sports sector was displayed through our moral and financial support for the just concluded Osun State calisthenics competition.
He added that “The victory of the Super Eagles is a beacon of hope that we will get it right as far as sports is concerned in the country and in our dear Osun State.”

The Legal Practitioner of repute also added that “2018 is indeed a year for the Super Eagles and Osun State. As I enjoin the victorious team not to relent and prepare well ahead for the mundial in Russia, this should also serve as a signal to all of us in Osun State to prepare for the 2018 gubernatorial poll to elect a credible leader who will bring a super turnaround in every facet of the State’s endeavour, sports inclusive as we have demonstrated through our commitment and support to the Osun State calisthenics programme.”
