The Deputy Speaker of Kaduna State House of Assembly, John Kwaturu, has resigned.
His resignation comes barely four days after he defected from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The lawmaker, who represents Kachia constituency, told Channels Television in an interview, on Tuesday, that he left the APC as a result of impunity, bad leadership, and division that existed in the party.
He also noted that he made the decision to resign as deputy speaker after consultation with his political associates and supporters.
Kwaturu, however, thanked the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly for the opportunity and support they gave him throughout the three years he served as Deputy Speaker.
