Kaduna Gov’s Adviser Resigns After Six Years In Govt
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Kaduna State on Students’ Affairs, Hassan Rilwan, has tendered his resignation, bringing to an end a six-year journey in public service marked by what he describes as “learning, loyalty, and legacy.”
In a statement issued on Monday, Rilwan expressed deep appreciation to former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, incumbent Governor Senator Uba Sani, and Hajiya Asia Mohammad Ahmad for their support and mentorship during his time in government.
Rilwan, who previously served under the El-Rufai administration, said his voluntary resignation was a moment of personal reflection and gratitude.
He commended El-Rufai for shaping his political values and offering him “the platform and privilege to serve.
“My reasons for joining the Kaduna State Government were threefold: to serve the people, learn from Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, and work closely with him to earn his confidence,” he wrote. “Let’s assume the whole world sees him as a villain — to me, he is a saint.”
“Mallam, regardless, you have my utmost respect. In your own words — my loyalty and fidelity to you is permanent, unyielding, and pensionable,” he stated.
He also praised Governor Uba Sani for appointing him as a Special Adviser, describing it as “a leap” in his political career. Rilwan noted that he discharged his responsibilities with diligence and integrity.
“I am proud to assert that I never for once floundered or betrayed the fiduciary responsibility entrusted to me. I will always cherish this experience,” he added.
In an emotional tribute to Hajiya Asia Mohammad Ahmad, he acknowledged her as “a motherly figure” whose guidance and honesty were instrumental to his success.
Beyond his official duties, Rilwan highlighted his grassroots involvement, particularly through the Sabon Gari Uba Sani Frontiers, where he said he “played a pivotal role” in the election of Governor Uba Sani.
