The speaker of the Kebbi state house of assembly, Hon. Abdulmumeen Kamba has been impeached.
It was gathered that Kamba was impeached on Tuesday alongside Muhammad Buhari-Aleiro, the deputy speaker of the assembly.
This was revealed by the chairman, house committee on information and culture, Muhammad Tukur, who announced the development after a closed door plenary.
Tukur said 20 out of the 24 members of the assembly attended the session.
He, however, did not disclose the reason for the impeachment of the principal officers.
According to Tukur, Kamba was replaced by Muhammad Abubakar-Lolo, the deputy chief whip, while the deputy speaker was replaced by Muhammad Ankwai.
“These included, the Chief Whip, the House Leader and the Deputy House Leader, among other 20 members,” Tukur said.
