Kidnapped Benue Commissioner Regains Freedom

Benue State Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Mathew Abo, who was abducted at his residence in Zaki-Biam on Sunday has regained freedom.

OSUN DEFENDER had reported that gunmen who came on four motorcycles, ordered everyone in the house, including the commissioner’s wife and children to lie face down before taking him to an unknown destination on one of the motorcycles.

A source said the Commissioner was said to have been released in the early hours of Thursday and already reunited with his family.

The source, who did not state whether the N50 million ransom demanded by his abductors was paid or not, said the Commissioner returned in good health

The staff of the Benue Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism mounted concerted prayer sessions for the release of the Commissioner.
