Kemi Adetiba’s new movie, King of Boys will have its world premiere on Sunday at the IMAX Cinemas, Filmhouse, Lekki. The exclusive event will see some of the biggest names in Nigerian entertainment grace the occasion, as fans and critics have been eagerly anticipating the release of the movie.
The movie stars Sola Sobowale in the lead role as Alhaja Eniola. She attempts to pursue her political ambitions, but her troubled past poses a huge threat to her ambitions. Whilst dealing with this, she is also drawn into a power tussle for her throne as the King of the Lagos underworld.
Speaking ahead of the movie release, Adetiba expressed her delight at finally being able to tell such a compelling story.
“After the huge success of The Wedding Party, I wanted to try my hands on a different style of storytelling, one that would show my versatility as a director and a storyteller,” she said.
