Knocks As Lekki Central Mosque Replaces ‘Jesus Is Not God’ Banner

The Lekki Central Mosque has removed the banner that elicited backlash from Christians, replacing with another controversial banner.

Osun Defender rpwkys that a banner was earlier placed at the gate of the Mosque, which read: “Jesus Christ is not God! He is a prophet and messenger of God!”

The message of the banner was condemned by many people with some arguing that the motive behind it was blasphemy.

Christians pointed out that the banner was disrespectful to Christians who believe in the trinity – that Jesus is God.

The banner was eventually removed this morning after the social media reactions.

However, an X user, @deniforu posted on Thursday afternoon that the controversial banner has been replaced with a new banner at the mosque.

However, the new banner also has words that Christians consider disrespectful.

It reads: “No diety (sic) is worthy of worship except Allah the Lord of Jesus Christ, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Muhammed, & all prophets”.

Reacting, @NafisatRamses, wrote, “How can you tell Christians that Jesus is a prophet? They don’t like it . Let everyone be and let people believe in what they want to believe in . Don’t force it . Forcing it is an act of intentional provocation”.

Another X user, @iam_arinzona, said, “The urge to start religious war is just burning in their hearts, but they will not succeed. How will they react if they see a banner ……..is a pedophile?? Which is fact.”
