THE lawmaker representing Egbedore State Constituency in the State of Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Babatunde Ibirogba, has come under heavy criticism for erecting a signboard without following due process.
The signpost, which is in support of the second term ambition of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola with Ibirogba’s picture, was erected at the popular ‘Dele Yes Sir’ roundabout, Osogbo.
However, the State of Osun Signage, Hoarding and Advertisement Agency, last week, ordered the removal of the signpost with the placement of a ‘removal emblem’.
According to the agency, the removal notice placed on signages was to instill sanity, compel registration and make defaulters to settle approved bills to the coffers of the government.
Reactions have been trailing the removal notice by the agency and residents of the state who spoke with OSUN DEFENDER berated the lawmaker for not following due process in erecting the signage.
According to Mrs. Adebowale Tomisin, a resident of Ofatedo area of Osogbo, the unregistered campaign signpost of the lawmaker is a reflection of the fact that most politicians see themselves as above the law.
Another commentator, Mr. Olamilekan Babatunde, on his Facebook page, chided the lawmaker for erecting a signpost without approval.
Babatunde said it is a slap on the face of the lawmaker to see his signpost condemned due to his inability to follow laid down procedures.
All efforts to reach the law maker proof abortive as caall to his his line was not answered and text message sent was not replied.
