Kwankwaso, Gov Yusuf Reportedly Set To Leave NNPP For APC
Former governor and incumbent, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Governor Abba Yusuf, would soon defect to the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP.
The Director-General of the Protocol Directorate of Kano State Government House, Abdullahi Rogo, disclosed this in a viral video released by Arewa Update on Sunday, noting that the citizens of the state and voters have agreed to it.
According to him, the planned defection of the two political heavyweights to the APC follows a meeting with the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly.
“After our meeting with the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly and other members of Kwankwasiyya, we agreed that Kwankwaso and Kano State Governor Abba K. Yusuf should join the APC,” he said.
Speaking in a similar direction, Bashir Ahmad, former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, expressed optimism that Governor Yusuf is likely to join the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the coming weeks.
Ahmad made the statement in a post on his verified X handle on Sunday.
“I can reliably confirm that the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, will be joining our great party, the APC in the coming weeks,” he wrote.
