Lagos Assembly Union Demands Immediate Release Of Three Detained Staff
The Lagos State House of Assembly leadership has demanded the immediate release of three detained staff members arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS), calling on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to intervene.
The DSS reportedly arrested the assembly staff last Friday over an incident that occurred the previous Monday when operatives stormed the Assembly, claiming to be acting on an invitation.
Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Babatunde Ogunlana, addressed lawmakers and the media, insisting that the union would not back down in its demand for their colleagues’ release.
“No Retreat, No Surrender,” Ogunlana stressed the union’s firm stance
