The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, on Friday, said the completion of the Lagos-Ibadan Express was marred by lack of funds, adding that the project would be completed in November.
Umahi, while appearing on the Channels Television programme, Politics Today, said a balance of N18bn had yet to be paid for the project, which he said he would discuss with President Bola Tinubu.
The minister added that the Federal Government couldn’t allot funds meant for one project to another.
He said, “Let’s give it November. We may have a little bit of challenges on funding but it is something that I intend to discuss with Mr President.
“The funding is coming from the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund programme. Right now, we have a balance of N18bn on that axis to pay. The stringent condition is that you cannot take funds that are meant for one project to do the other one.”
