A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Amuwo-Odofin Constituency I, Mrs Foluke Osafile, has defected from the Labour Party (LP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Confirming the move on Saturday, the lawmaker said, โ€œYes, it is true. I have defected to the ADC.โ€

She explained that the decision was taken to serve her constituents better and improve their future.

Osafile pledged to work with ADC leaders to promote good governance, stating, โ€œTogether, we will strengthen our democratic institutions and ensure that the voices of ordinary Nigerians are heard and respected.โ€

She also reassured her constituents of her loyalty, adding, โ€œYour trust remains my guiding principle.โ€

The lawmaker, who won her seat in 2023 on the LP platform, is expected to announce her defection during plenary in the coming days formally.
