Lagos State Too Diverse For Tinubu To Win – Bwala
Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has described Lagos State as a “no-man’s land.”
Bwala explained that despite being Tinubu’s home state, the President did not win Lagos in the last election.
He added that Lagos’ cosmopolitan nature makes it distinct, noting that almost all of Nigeria’s wealthiest individuals, including Aliko Dangote, conduct their businesses there.
He said, “Let me tell you why Lagos State is different. Lagos is a no-man’s land. In the last election, the president who comes from the Southwest did not win Lagos, and that tells you the cosmopolitan nature of Lagos State.
“Secondly, the richest man in Africa is a Northerner, and his business is not in Kano but in Lagos. Almost every rich man you know in Nigeria has business undertakings in Lagos.
“The Nigerian people are well represented in Lagos. If not for the majority being Yoruba-speaking, you would wonder whether Lagos is truly from the Southwest.”
