Large Turnout As OAU Students Elect Hostels’ Representatives

The Students of Obafemi Awolowo University on Saturday came out in large numbers to cast their votes for their preferred candidates in the halls of residence elections.

The voting exercise is currently underway across all halls of residence, including Akintola Hall, Moremi Hall, Awolowo Hall, Alumni Hall of residence, and Mozambique Hall.

Despite a delayed start, students eagerly waited to exercise their franchise. The electoral officers responsible for conducting the election arrived at 10 am, an hour after the scheduled start time.

As the voting continues, students are seen queuing up to cast their ballots, while electoral officers are busy counting the votes. The large turnout is a testament to the students’ enthusiasm and engagement in the electoral process.

The election is expected to be peaceful and transparent, with students eagerly awaiting the outcome to determine their representatives for the various halls of residence.
