Large Turnout As Osun SUBEB Conducts Joint State Examination For Over 240,000 Pupils

Over two hundred and forty thousand pupils of public and private primary schools in the State of Osun came out in their numbers on Thursday to write the Joint State Examination organized by State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) for pupils of Grade 3, 4,5 and 6. i.e (Primary 3,4,5, and 6).

The exercise monitored by senior officials of the board in different parts of the state led by the board’s permanent secretary, Alhaji Fatai Kolawole, was certified satisfactory.

The SUBEB helmsman declared that materials needed for the examinations were adequately supplied, and all other resources needed to be were dispatched at a record time including human resource which made the exercise flawless and hitch-free.

Speaking specifically on the importance of the Joint State Examination exercise, Alhaji Fatai Kolawole, said, “the examination is aimed at shoring up the standard of education to enable pupils have improved learning outcomes as well as instill the examination ethics in them right from the elementary school. It’s used to issue them primary schools leaving certificates, while it also measures the learning achievements of both private and public schools in the state”.

He, however, advised parents and all stakeholders to support the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola in his desire to take Osun to greater height among its peers.

Some centres visited by osun.life also revealed that the Examination was going on smoothly in both the Public and Private schools in Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun, Orolu and Egbedore LGEAS.

For instance at St.John’s Anglican Govt Elementary school, and FOCUS Groups of schools both in Okinni area of Egbedore local government area respectively, shows the Pupils conducted themselves very well.

While speaking with newsmen on the conduct and management of the examination, the Proprietress of Focus School Nursery and Primary School, Mrs Simbiat Olaosun, said her school was very proud of Osun SUBEB annual JSE, she expressed her confidence in the leadership of the board, led by Alhaji Fatai Kolawole, for his ingenuity at promoting quality education at the grassroots.

In his own reaction to the exercise, the President, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, (NAPPS), Osun State Chapter, Prince Joel Oyeniyi, described Osun SUBEB as a pathfinder and partners in progress with NAPPS. He said report across all the local governments in the state shows that the exercise was hitch-free.

He, however, commended the entire staff of Osun SUBEB and most importantly the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Fatai Kolawole for a wonderful job.
