LAUTECH Appoints New VC

Prof. Mojeed Liasu, has been appointed as the acting Vice Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.

This is coming few days after a ‘step aside’ order was issued to the Vice Chancellor of the institution, by the Governor of Oyo State who is also the visitor to the institution, Engr. Seyi Makinde, through the state Commissioner for Education.

Mojeed, a Professor of Plant Physiology, Department of Pure and Applied Biology was on Thursday, ratified by the Governing Council of the institution.

Until his appointment as the Acting VC, He was a Deputy Vice Chancellor in the same university.

The ratification came up at the 138th meeting of the LAUTECH Governing Council.

As contained in a release by the Registrar of the institution, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye, the council noted that “in order not to create vacuum in the university system, the council approved the appointment of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, M.O Liasu as the Acting VC with effect from Friday April 16, 2021untill further notice”.
