A lecturer named Adamu Gambo Hudu has been arrested by the Yobe State Police Command for allegedly raping a female student in Potiskum town.
The lecturer reportedly works at both the State General Hospital, Potiskum, and Al-Ma’arif, a private college of health sciences in Potiskum, where the victim is enrolled as a student.
DSP Abdulkarim Dungus, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Yobe State Command, confirmed that Hudu was apprehended by Police operatives last Wednesday. He added that ongoing investigations are being conducted into the matter.
The PPRO said, “The suspect is in our custody. He was arrested for alleged rape, molestation and breach of trust. Further investigation is ongoing”.
The Registrar of Al-Ma’arif College of Health Sciences and Technology, Usman Alhaji Saleh, also confirmed the arrest to newsmen.
But he declined further comments on the matter.
