Ahead of the 2025 Local Government election in Osun State, the state Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), is set to launch a campaign against social vices such as cultism, cybercrime, and drug abuse.
The campaign tagged “Campaign Against Election 2CD”, according to a statement by the Commission’s Chairman, Barr. Hashim Abioye will be formally launched very soon.
Abioye noted that one of the core responsibilities of the commission is to intensify the campaign against all forms of social vices which can jeopardise the election.
He said the move would aid the peaceful conduct of the polls.

Abioye added that the commission is committed to conducting credible, free, fair, and acceptable polls across the Local Government and Local Council Development Areas and the Area Office in Osun.
Abioye said: “The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission will launch a campaign against cultism, cybercrime, and drug abuse during elections in Osun.
“The campaign which is tagged, “Campaign Against Election 2CD will be formally unveiled soon.
“This will intensify the efforts of the commission to conduct credible and acceptable polls across the Local Government Council Areas and the Area Council of Osun.”
The OSIEC boss enjoined residents of the State to join hands with the commission to get rid Osun of electoral offences and every acts that is capable of disrupting electoral processes.
