  • As Chair Harps On Propagating Progressives Ideals

Thousands of loyalists from different political camps and tendencies in Osun have formally joined the Omoluabi Progressives.

The new entrants were received by the State Coordinating Team of the caucus led by Alhaji Azeez Adesiji during its ongoing tour of local governments in the state.

A statement by Abosede Oluwaseun, Organising and Publicity Secretary of Omoluabi Progressives on Wednesday said while receiving the new members in Boluwaduro, Boripe, Irewole, Isokan, Ayedaade, Ayedire, Ila and Ifedayo council areas, Adesiji praised them for their courage and readiness to be a part of a movement that will return the governance of Osun to true progressivism.

The ex-council boss stressed that Omoluabi is not just a political tendency but a movement that seeks to promote responsible leadership that will transform Osun if elected in 2026.

Adesiji admonished executives and coordinators of Omoluabi at the grassroots not to relent in their efforts to promoting the its ideals of character, competence, discipline and integrity so as to attract more bigwigs into the fold.

His words, “I am very happy that the message of Omoluabi is traversing the length and breadth of Osun. I want us to continue in this direction. We receive daily reports of people showing interest to be a part of our happy family and this is the line we should build on.

“The new members should know that the task to reclaim Osun in 2026 has commenced in earnest. I urge you all to begin work immediately across the ward to the unit levels. If we want to get to Abeere, we must go deep to the grassroots because all politics is local.

“We have the capacity and strength to achieve our aim but we must be united and resolve to hold a common front. I am glad to see our members enthusiastic but we cannot rest at this point. Our numbers must continue to grow in quality and quantity. We are open to all.

“Let me also reiterate that we are not a separatist tendency. We are a solid front that comprises the genuine progressives who are the foundation of the political struggle we started in 2003 that led us to government in 2010. We are not fighting anyone nor are a breakaway faction. We are a total tendency with the strength and ability to return to the seat of power.

“Our exploits in the last one year has shown that we are indeed a force to reckon with in Osun politics. We are very formidable. That is why we must continue to be united and propagate the ideals of good governance anchored on the platform of responsible leadership,” the Omoluabi Chair reiterated.

Traditional rulers in the areas visited lauded the efforts of Omoluabi Progressives in promoting leadership poised to deliver good governance through dignity, character and competence.

They urged well-meaning individuals and the people of Osun to support the Omoluabi in its vision to return the state on the track of development.
