Live Updates: VP Osinbajo Flags Off #OsunMSMEClinics

Nigeria’s  Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is to flag off the distribution of N50,000 to more than 3,000 small and medium scale enterprise owners in the State of Osun under the Federal Government/Osun MSME Programme.

The programme already on in 9 states of the federation is to also give about 200 specially selected small business owners the sum of N500,000 to explore their businesses.

The Nelson Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo is already a beehive of activities as Stakeholders, MSME Owners, Politicians, Traditional Rulers, Men and Women are already around to witness the ceremony.

Expected to grace the event alongside the Vice President is the Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Deputy Governor, Mrs Titi Laoye Tomori, Members of the Federal Executive Council, Members of the Osun Executive Council among others.

There will also be an exhibition by several MSME groups in the state of Osun as the stage is set for the epoch making event.

11.15 am The stage is set with all the categories of the MSME’s plus Relevant Governement Agencies like the BOI, SON, NAFDAC, CAC, Osun Broilers Outgrowers Scheme, O’BOPS among others having their stands to showcase their activities to those on ground.

11.35am The Federal Government in collaboration with the State Government of Osun Opens the FG-Osun One Stop Shop that has in it representatives of the Bank of Industry BOI, Standards Organization of Nigeria SON, National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC and other relevant agencies who are involved in the registration, monitoring and giving credit facilities to interested MSME owners across the state.

11.38am Members of the Osun State Cultural Troops entertained guests to savour the moment while the programme officially begins with addresses from the representatives of partnering agencies to sensitize the people on the importance of seeking their support in their respective small and medium scale enterprises.

11.48am Dignitaries like the Executives of the All Progressives Congress in the State of Osun including Alhaji Rasaq Salinsile, Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde among other Aregbesola Solidarity Groups trooped in to the venue.

12.15pm Representatives of NAFDAC, Mrs Yedunni Adenuga, Representative of the Bank of Industry, Mrs Abimbola Soyode and Mrs Toyin Idowu from the Standards Organization of Nigeria all come out to address the crowd on the importance of registering with their agencies to promote their small, medium scale enterprises.

2.15pm The Vice President, Prof Osinbajo alongside Governor Aregbesola have landed in Osogbo in company of other bigwigs from the Ibadan Airport. According to reports, the duo are touring some projects embarked upon by the Osun Chief Executive in roads, schools infrastructure and the rest.

4.40pm: Vice President, Osinbajo’s words: SME’s are the growth of any nation. There are great potientials that are available. Anybody that wants to do small business in the state will be empowered to do his/her business. This country belongs to everyone of us and this country will be well if we are all committed to making sure that small businesses thrive. We are confident that in making sure that if we do not spend anyhow, if we have a government where people can be positively impacted on, we are assured that things will go on well.

I have seen the schools, bridges , roads here in osun state and I can say I am happy that we have in here a man like Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

All of us in the APC all know that we are indebted to the man on the streets and we will work to ensure that the poorest man gets the best of the best.

This is a very special state, we have here the pride of the black man, we are omoluabi here, we are thieves, we work here, we don’t steeal and we will do well and we know if we are gainfully employed, we will all have the opportunity to feed ourselves and live a good life.

He rounded off by applauding Governor Rauf Aregbesola and praised him through the sounding of Six gbosas for the Governor!!!!!
