Lookman Breaks Silence on Clash with Osimhen After 4-0 Win Against Mozambique
Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has downplayed the clash with teammate Victor Osimhen during Nigeria’s 4-0 victory over Mozambique in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday night.
Both players scored in the first half, with Lookman providing two assists for Osimhen’s goals.
Tension arose when Lookman appeared to take a shot instead of passing, leading to a brief exchange between the pair.
Moments later, Osimhen stopped his attacking run and requested to be substituted by head coach Eric Chelle.
“I don’t think that is really important, the team won 4-0,” Lookman told journalists.
“Vic is my number one guy, everybody knows this. Top striker, top player, so all of the rest is not important.”
