Lyon wins match against Saint-Etienne (1-0)

Lyon, despite a late match at ten, came out winner of the long-awaited Rhone derby against Saint-Etienne (1-0), climbing to 2nd place in the standings, Friday opening the 14th day of Ligue 1, and putting pressure on Lille and Montpellier.

After a first indecisive period, Lyon took the advantage on a realization of Jason Denayer, in the 63rd minute. A victory auspicious, a few days before receiving Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday, then move to Lille on 1 December.

The North and Montpellier, who occupied before this meeting the 2nd and 3rd places, have now no choice but to win Sunday against respectively Nice and Rennes, if they want to stay in the race.
