Makinde Pledges To End Refuse Dumping In Ibadan
Governor Seyi Makinde has assured Oyo residents that the indiscriminate dumping of refuse in Ibadan will soon be a thing of the past.
Makinde, while speaking at a social function over the weekend, said his administration has been tackling the problem since he assumed office and promised a lasting solution.
He also used the occasion to stress that citizens should not die for politicians, highlighting the union of families from different political backgrounds.
“Politics is a game, but governance is not a game. Governance is serious business, and that is why I will use this opportunity to apologise to all of you.
“Passing through Ibadan, you will see a lot of waste all over. It is a problem we have been dealing with. It has taken me six years and it has still not been solved, but I promise you that the problem will be solved and be solved for good,” Makinde emphasised.
