A 27-year-old man, Oluwaseun Samuel, has been arraigned by the Ekiti State Police Command before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court over alleged conspiracy to commit felony, malicious damage and obtaining money by false pretence.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant, on November 20, 2025, maliciously damaged the foundation of a three-bedroom building valued at N1.5 million, property of one Bello Sidikat.

He added that the offence was committed with intent to defraud and amounted to obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to and punishable under Sections 421 and 363 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

Samuel, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

His counsel, Barrister Oluwafemi S. Alabi, urged the court to grant his client bail, assuring that the defendant would not jump bail and would provide a reliable surety.

In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum. The court stated that the surety must be a responsible person.

The case was adjourned until January 22, 2026, for hearing.
