The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a 47-year-old man, Kunle Ahmed, before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 200 bundles of lace worth N4.595 million.
The defendant, a supervisor in a fabrics shop, who resides at 15, Demurin St., Ketu, Lagos, is charged with stealing.
The Prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offence was committed between September and October 2023 at Oshodi, Lagos.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi, thereafter, adjourned the case till Jan. 31 for mention.
