A 57 year-old, Mukaila Aderemi has been sentenced to a month imprisonment by an Osogbo Magistrate Court, presided over by Mrs Mary Awodele for disrespecting the court proceedings.
The prosecutor, Sgt Sunday Ajayi explained that the accused committed the offence on the 8th of August, 2017.
According to the charge sheet, the suspect, Mukaila Aderemi at Chief Magistrate Court 2, Oke-fia, Osogbo being an accused person in case no. Mos IIIC/2017 Police Vs Mukaila Aderemi failed to answer to his name when the case was called for further hearing.
This, according to the charge, amounted to disrespect to judicial proceedings and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 133 (a) of the criminal code cap 34Vol.II laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.
The accused person who was charged on a count charges, pleaded guilty to the offence. The Presiding Magistrate then sentenced the accused to one month imprisonment.
