Two men, Abubakar Ibrahim and Isah Ayuba, have been arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command over the abduction and subsequent killing of one Felicia Namkywa, a petty trader.
In a statement on Sunday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel said the arrest was carried out by police detectives attached to the Obi Division.
According to the PPRO, the arrest was sequel to a complaint lodged at Obi Divisional Police Headquarters indicating that the trader was missing for days, and all efforts to trace her whereabouts proved abortive.
He said preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was lured via phone call by one of the suspects who was owing the trader the sum of N40,000. He reportedly beckoned on her to come and purchase grains in one of the Fulani settlements (Ruga) of the area.
“Unknown to her there was a sinister plan to take her life and dispossess her of her business capital,” the police spokesman said.
