A man, Muftau Adefalu, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police for allegedly killing his ex-wife, Yetunde Olayiwole, during a confrontation in Sango-Ota.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024.
Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, explained that the 37-year-old suspect reportedly had a disagreement with Olayiwole, which escalated into a physical altercation.

During the scuffle, Olayiwole reportedly slumped and was later confirmed dead at the hospital where she was taken for treatment.
Odutola said, “The two were involved in a fight, during which the woman slumped and was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
“The body has been moved to the Ifo General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, and the suspect is now in custody.”
This tragic event comes shortly after a similar case in Ibadan, Oyo State, where a 39-year-old man, Olusegun Tinubu, was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife.
The suspect has been detained and the Police Command confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
