Man Arrested For Beheading Cousin’s Corpse

A middle aged man,  Muyideen Raimi, has been arrested by the Oyo State Police for exhuming and decapitating his late cousin, Sulaiman Aromokun.

The Police Command who announced the arrest, said Raimi, who allegedly committed the act with an accomplice now at large, exhumed his cousin’s corpse from the Aromokun compound in Isale Ijebu, Ibadan.

The Commissioner of Police in the state while parading the suspect, stated, “The police have arrested Muyideen Raimi for exhuming and decapitating his late cousin, Sulaiman Aromokun, who was buried at the Aromokun compound in Isale Ijebu, Ibadan.”

The police reported that Raimi was apprehended with the severed head and confessed to the crime, implicating one Sumaila, also known as Baba Ibeji, who is currently at large. Raimi revealed their intention to use the skull for a money ritual. The investigation is ongoing, and further developments will be communicated.

In a separate case, the Police Command paraded ritualist Muhammad Adekunle for allegedly killing and selling human parts in Ibadan.

The police reported that Adekunle, along with Lukman, Olobe, and Ifa—now at large—conspired to kill people for ritual purposes in January 2024.

While presenting the suspects, the police revealed that in April 2024, Adekunle and his accomplices lured Adekola Sodiq to Moniya, where they severed his head and legs, which were sold to Obaleye Sanmi and Ismail Olalekan.

Further confessions revealed that on August 7, 2024, Adekunle and his accomplices killed Malik Kareem, severed his head and legs, and sold them to Rashidat Akanji at Oje Market for N70,000.

“On August 11, 2024, at approximately 06:30hrs, a search warrant was executed at the suspects’ premises, where fresh flesh was recovered. Adekunle confessed that this flesh was part of Malik Kareem, whom they killed on August 7, 2024.

“During the investigation, suspects Muniru Salawudeen, Rashidat Akanji, Ismail Olalekan, and Obaleye Sanmi were arrested. They confessed to buying various human parts for rituals from Adekunle Mohammed.

“On August 10, 2024, at about 00:15hrs, Ayede reported an offensive odour emanating from a building owned by Muhammad Adekunle, who is not usually resident there but visits at odd hours. Operatives from Moniya Divisional Police Headquarters responded and discovered a dry well containing mutilated human remains.

“The remains of three unidentified bodies were removed to the State Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy. Photographs were also taken,” the Commissioner added
