Man Arrested For Raping Teenager In Ogun
A 32-year-old man, Gbenga Kolawole has been arrested by Ogun Stateย Police Command for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in Adubi, in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state.
The commandโs Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, in a statement on Friday, said the suspect was apprehended following a report from the victimโs mother.
Odutola disclosed that Kolawole took advantage of the drunk state of the victim, โtook her to a nearby bar shop, locked her there and had unlawful carnal knowledge of herโ before he was caught in the act by one Sunday Ibrahim.
The statement read, โFollowing a report from an aggrieved mother that her 16-year-old daughter who got drunk during an annual church year anniversary celebration on November 6, 2023, in Adubi Ogun State, and was taken by her to a nearby bar shop and locked there, became victim to one Gbenga Kolawole โmโ 32yrs who had unlawful carnal knowledge of the drunk girl. He was however caught in the act by one Sunday Ibrahim โmโ of same address.โ
She said the victim was receiving medical attention while the suspect has been arrested
In a separate development, the PPRO disclosed that policemen attached to the Sango Divisional Police Headquarters arrested one Alao James in Ilo Ota, Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State for allegedly stealing a Toyota RAV4 SUV with number plate MUS 580 JA belonging to Elogie Polycarp.
Polycap had earlier reported that the vehicle was stolen from a car park in Gbagada, Lagos State.
โAll exhibits will be handed over to Gbagada Police Station where the case originated,โ she added.
