The Osun State police command has arraigned a 25-year-old Yusuf Jimoh on Monday before a Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo over an attempt to steal.
The defendant, Yusuf Jimoh is facing a two-count charge bothering on attempting to steal.
The Prosecutor Assistant Superintendent Police Fagboyinbo Abiodun said Yusuf Jimoh attempted to commit felony by having in his possession a Toyota Camry car key and a spanner which he cannot give satisfactory account of.
He told the court that the accused person committed the offence on August 25, 2018 at Gbodofon area in Osogbo.
He added that the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 509, 430 of the criminal code cap 34 vol. ii laws of Osun State, Nigeria 2003.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the two count charges preferred against him.
Defence counsel, Okobe Najite prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms and added that his client will not abuse the priviledge and will stand his trail.
In the ruling of the presiding Magistrate, Mrs Modupe Awodele, the accused was granted bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till September 4, 2018 for hearing of the matter.
