Man Bags Life Jail Term For Raping 2 Teenagers
An Akwa Ibom State High Court has sentenced a 37-year-old man, Uduak Moses Idimudo, to life in prison for raping two teenagers in Eket LGA of Akwa Ibom State.
Idimodu according to the prosecution counsel, lured the teenagers, aged 14 and 15, into his room on the premise of giving them change for the fried cow skin meat he brought from them.
The convict was said to have taken turns to rape them on two occasions and still refused to give them their change but threatened to kill them if they disclosed to anyone.
In her testimony, one of the victims said they met the defendant on the road in Efoi in July 2020, when he bought meat worth N700 from them and told them to accompany him to his room to get the money or that they should go and sell the meat and come back.
She stated that on their way home, they went back to his house as he directed them to collect their money, but that he insisted that they must follow him into his room, which they did.
She said the convict pushed her and her friend onto his bed and removed their pants and inserted his peni£ inside their vaginas and after that gave them N350 instead of the N700 he owed them.
Speaking further, she told the court that they went back after one month for the balance of their money but the convict instead, took turns raping each of them again and did not pay the debt and asked them to come back again.
She explained that the same procedure was used by the convict between July 2020, and April 2021, until a woman who happens to be his neighbour noticed them and reported the incident to their parents.
Justice Efiong Efiong of the court said in his judgement said, “I believe the testimonies of PW 1 and PW 5 (the victims) as corroborated by the confessional statement of the defendant and the medical reports of evidence of forceful penetration of vaginas of PW 1 and PW5.”
Justice Efiong described the defendant as “a despicable character who is worse than an untrained animal and does not deserve to be left free in the community of decent people.
“That the defendant could keep raping two minors naked on his bed and raping them in their open view shows that he is a dirty, wicked, and satanic person who has no regard for the law and morals.”
