Man Bags Nine Months Jail Term For Not Using Pedestrian Bridge
A man simply identified as Paul has been sentenced to nine months in prison for not using a pedestrian bridge.
The convict was also reported to have assaulted personnel of the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps.
He was sentenced by a mobile court in Oshodi, Lagos.
This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a post on his X handle on Thursday.
Wahab wrote, “Paul was apprehended on April 16 for not using the pedestrian bridge at Agbado Oke Odo, and in the process, he assaulted and wounded the enforcement personnel of LAGESCOfficial (KAI).
“The mobile court sitting at Oshodi yesterday sentenced him to nine months imprisonment.”
The ministry had recently warned residents against shunning pedestrian bridges, as it described the crossing of major highways in the state by pedestrians as an offence.
