Man Breaks Into FCMB, Hides In Toilet Ceiling, Attempts To Hack Bank System (Video l)
A suspected hacker has been caught attempting to compromise the system of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) after he was discovered hiding inside the toilet ceiling of one of the bank’s branches.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday, June 30, 2025.
According to reliable sources within the bank, the unidentified man had entered the branch earlier in the day during regular banking hours, pretending to be a customer. Instead of carrying out any transaction, he quietly made his way to the restroom where he allegedly locked the door and climbed into the ceiling panels, concealing himself until the close of business.
“He waited until all staff had closed for the day. Then he came down and attempted to hack into the bank’s systems. He also locked himself inside the premises,” a staff member who pleaded anonymity said.
His plot, however, hit a brick wall the following morning when bank staff resumed work and noticed that the main door had been locked from the inside.
Upon forcibly gaining entry, employees were shocked to discover someone hiding within the ceiling compartments of the restroom. They later realised the systems had been tampered with when a strange message appeared on their screens: ‘Restarting, click OK to accept’, suggesting an attempt to breach the bank’s internal network.
The bank’s internal security team immediately alerted the appropriate authorities. Men of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), alongside private security operatives, swiftly responded and reportedly apprehended the suspect at the scene.
A short video clip now circulating on social media shows the moment the suspect descended from the ceiling. He was immediately surrounded and beaten by security personnel and policemen present at the bank premises.
