Man Climbs Radio Mast To Commit Suicide In Abuja
A man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was spotted on Monday morning on top of a radio mast in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, attempting to take his own life.
This was seen in a video uploaded by Channels TV, stating that a suicide note left behind by the man was found.
Relevant agencies were deployed to the scene to rescue him.

The rescue operation is currently being carried out by the Fire Service, National Emergency Management Agency, and Federal Capital Territory officials.
Osun Defender reports that suicide is a serious public health concern in Nigeria, with a reported suicide rate of 6.9 per 100,000 people, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). This translates to around 15,000 people dying by suicide every year in a country of over 218 million people.
Several factors contribute to suicide in Nigeria, including; mental health, poverty, social pressures, stigma, and many others.
